ROCKY

This commissioned sculpture is 1.2 times life-size and was custom made to fit this particular spot on this particular rock, providing my client with views of him from the entry and upper level of their home as well. This huge boulder is 15 to 20 feet high.

Why do I use found objects instead of just fabricating new steel?  It is more interesting and challenging to use items that have had a former life. I especially like to use things people easily recognize. This client particularly enjoys the creative re-use of rusty ‘treasures’.

Here is a partial inventory to give you an idea: golf clubs, crank case oil pan, coyote trap, fireplace screen, grass clippers, and tin snips.
