Artist's Inspiration:

Position of Strength

This sculpture is meant to relate to those acquainted with hardship and suffering. One might conclude that the anguish on this man’s face is one of despair and no hope. Paradoxically, however, just the opposite is true. In this vulnerable, expended condition he is realizing the limits of his own resources. His metal is finally hot enough for God to forge a powerful tool out of him that will accomplish vastly greater things than were previously possible. “My gracious favor is all you need. My power works best in your weaknesses”.

(2 Corinth. 12:9)

This is actually a very positive piece that depicts our truest position of strength.
